Bodh Shiksha

Bodh Shiksha Samiti is a non profit organisation, established by a group of enthusiastic educators that has been working in the education sector since the last 30 years. It has been instrumental in establishing around a hundred community schools (both in urban and rural areas), collaborating with many government schools, providing training to teachers, developing course material, initiating a number of supportive educational programmes and formulating Rajasthan Government’s RTE act, among many other things.

We collaborated with Bodh in order to provide communications support, to build their brand and to help in their fundraising endeavors. Our deliverables included developing their website, making videos and brochures, designing hoardings and other such elements, and developing their fundraising campaigns for social networking platforms.

Bodh Shiksha Samiti is a highly democratic and decentralised organisation. It comprises a workforce of around 800 people. A major challenge was to communicate with around 150-200 of these people, who were posted all over Rajasthan. On our agenda, before commencing work, was to try and understand Bodh’s value system, their journey, their pedagogy, their approach and their work, as only then we could effectively communicate on their behalf.

Also their dispersed structure needed collation of all their work that spanned almost three decades. This was challenging as very little of the sort had been done in their organisation before.

The only viable solution for the challenges posed by Bodh was to thoroughly understand the organisation. For this purpose, apart from interacting with the people who work with Bodh, we also spent time with the students, ex-students, members of the communities they have worked with, and people from the organisations they had partnered with. The next step was to groom Bodh’s workforce in order to empower them digitally and make them adept at handling audio-visual equipment

The slow and gradual result has been a better brand outlook of Bodh as an organization strategically thematized by all stakeholders. We developed sample classroom videos, videos of the training sessions and videos of perspective sessions by the director. Some of the training programmes conducted by Bodh were documented over a period of 9 days continuously using multicams to document every session and edited to be given to the teachers trained to be used as training material.

These proved to be a big contribution for the educators working with Bodh and many of its partners. These are now available on Rajasthan Government’s portal for public use.

Apart from these, the internal communication and branding material developed by us brought a great level of ease into their workings.We are now in a process of chronicling their journey in the form of a few films and books which would prove helpful for their fundraising endeavours.

These would also be of great help to start-up ventures across India who wish to study the successful establishment and the growth of a non profit organisation of such proportions.
