Overview

When M/s Dupont and Adani Power collaborated to launch Chetna, a process transformation initiative they collaborated with Decode Mediacom for their branding solutions. Apart from the usual deliverables, we were commissioned to make infographic films that would address various aspects of personnel safety at a working site.

Project

For this project, there were two major challenges that we came across. The first one was understanding the technicalities of the work, various parameters of safety stipulated by the organisation, and developing a script accordingly.

The second challenge was to work on the infographics so as to make them both informative and interesting. This task was extremely laborious. Nevertheless, the writers/conceptualizers, graphic designers, and the editors worked collectively to bring the project to a successful conclusion.

Apart from this, we were also instrumental in developing a lot of communication material for them. These included surveys, quizzes, comic strips, quarterly magazines and more such. The major reason behind these was that in an organisation that is running busy round-the-clock, diverting people’s attention towards an issue is a challenge.

The major reason behind these was that in an organisation that is running busy round-the-clock, diverting people’s attention towards an issue is a challenge.

Hence, the need for frequent creative communication solutions was felt. Moreover, each of the above communication tools were specifically designed to fulfil a purpose. For instance, the surveys allowed the organisation to gain an insight into the thoughts and needs of various employees.

Similarly, the quizzes helped the organisation gauge the level of understanding of various risks and safety measures that the employees encounter on a daily basis. The comic strips provided the much-needed relief from the heavy and serious nature of the communication. These also made the communication interesting and helped elevate the recall value of each aspect. Lastly, the publication of a quarterly magazine allowed the organisation to dwell deep into each subject matter.

Both the literature developed and the infographics made were highly appreciated by the client. These are now routinely used in their internal training sessions and to reinforce the importance of adhering to safety measures while at the workplace so as to reduce the number of accidents at their work sites.

For us, the project proved to be quite educating, owing to the extensive research that went behind understanding their prescribed standards. The highlight of course, was the reduced incident rate among all its undergoing projects.
